Kirsty is from South Africa. She completed a National Diploma in Equine Science at Pretoria Tech in 2000. She worked at a Warmblood stud in Oxfordshire for two years following this. Returning home to South Africa, she completed a BSc Veterinary Biology at Pretoria University and then a BVSc at Onderstepoort.
Kirsty completed an Internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at Onderstepoort Equine Hospital in 2011. She then joined a racing practice in Johannesburg where she developed a passion for racing.
During this time, she met and married her husband who was an assistant trainer, and they decided to move to the UK in 2015. Kirsty worked at an equine practice in Surrey before joining Sussex Equine Hospital in September 2017.
Outside of work Kirsty enjoys being outside walking her dog Dudley, she also loves cooking, reading, gardening and riding, and any opportunity to go racing.
